We are committed to continuous improvement in quality and we actively work towards this at all levels.

Aspire Defence aims at achieving consistent ways of working that produce excellent results and our management systems are designed to enable us to achieve this. Aspire Defence continues to be certified to both the ISO9001 quality management systems and ISO14001 environmental management systems standards.

The certification has been awarded by Bureau Veritas Certification (BVC).

In addition, in recognition of our Safety First Always value, Aspire Defence Services Limited and Aspire Defence Capital Works are also assessed by BVC against:

OHSAS 18001 – Occupational Health & Safety Management Systems

Investors in People

Aspire Defence met the Investors in People standard at the start of the contract and recertified at the Bronze standard during 2010.

The Investors in People Standard provides a framework for improving business performance and competitiveness through good practice in human resource development.

BREEAM

BREEAM (Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method) is the key mechanism for incorporating sustainability into design. With over 200 buildings reaching the required standards under this certification, Project Allenby/Connaught is now the largest BREEAM project in the UK.

BREEAM is a method for evaluating the environmental performance of a building, as developed by the Building Research Establishment (BRE).

Aspire Defence's sustainable design commitments also extend to a significant programme of ‘Sustainable Design Solutions’ including:

Over 100 single living accommodation (SLA) buildings fitted with micro combined heat and power (CHP) units to collectively save in the region of an estimated 1,100 tonnes carbon dioxide (which will save around £275,000 in electricity at today’s prices)
Aspire Defence designed a range of new buildings that are being constructed in energy efficient ways. From modular units, where each block of 36 man flats can be built in just 12 weeks, to installing solar panels to provide energy that will reduce the cost of heating
The solar panels provided on new buildings will have a floor area equivalent to Westminster Abbey
New buildings are being fitted with rainwater harvesting systems and we manage the UK’s largest energy and water metering programme, with over 800 buildings being monitored
Each year 4.5 million toilet flushes will be made with rainwater collected on site
Solar thermal panels will be installed on 87 of our SLA buildings
Over 100 assets will be fitted with Rainwater Harvesting systems
