Go green in sustainability week - Monday 2 to Friday 6 June

19 May 08

You are invited to take part in a number of activities being run by the Aspire Defence environment team during Sustainability Week which takes place from Monday 2 June to Friday 6 June.

The theme for World Environment Day (Thursday 5th) is ‘CO2 – kick the habit – towards a low carbon economy’, drawing attention to the environmental impact resulting from our day-to-day lives and the direct impact we have on the world’s resources.

Aspire’s Sustainability Week aims to raise awareness of environmental issues across the business and explain how we are addressing the ‘green’ challenges on the Project as well as providing advice for the home too.

Did you know that if everyone lived like we do in the UK we’d need three planets to
support us?

This is why we all need to consider our lifestyle choices and to help you make informed‘greener lifestyle’ choices, Aspire Defence will be launching a ‘green living guide’. Each day we will issue a news sheet highlighting current environmental themes and topics together with competitions.

There will also be opportunities to get involved in voluntary conservation projects throughout the course of the week. In addition we will once again be running the popular nature walks which aim to highlight wildlife and their habitats that can be found close to the garrisons.

We do hope you will find the week interesting and will want to get involved.
